DINING
So many awesome dining options to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites.
MEXICAN:
Felipe’s - Very casual, very good. Chile Relleno, Camarones Chipotle Sauce, and Enchiladas with red OR green sauce are fantastic! Located at 400 S. El Cielo Rd, Palm Springs.
La Perlita - Very casual and also very good. Don’t miss the Chilaquiles with eggs and shredded chicken or the Barbacoa! Located at 901 Crossley Road, Palm Springs.
Guillermo’s - More of an upscale dining experience, with dishes from many regions of Mexico. Unique dishes include Carnitas (that sauce!) and Pollo Con Mole Poblano. Located at 72850 El Paseo, Palm Desert.
FUN
Jake’s - Beautiful courtyard for a more intimate experience. Great option, especially if you are in search of comfort food! Located at 664 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs.
Birba - Modern restaurant with a changing menu in the heart of Uptown Palm Springs. Located at 622 N. Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs.
Wilma & Frieda’s Cafe - Classic food options with amazing dessert selections. Locations in Palm Desert AND Palm Springs!
LODGING
Choices, choices, choices! From vacation rentals across the valley, to full service resorts, there is something for everyone.
SMALL AND INTIMATE
Sparrow’s Lodge, Palm Springs. Unique architecture from the 1950’s and Uber-cool details make this a favorite for those 21 and over.
Korakia Pensione, Palm Springs. For a true escape, this small resort features Mediterranean architecture and Moorish influences. Seriously, this provides a Palm Springs experience like no other!
Mojave Resort, Palm Desert. This small resort, with ties to the 40’s and 50’s, is only steps from El Paseo.
ENERGIZED AND LIVELY
Arrive Hotel, Palm Springs. Newer hotel with young energy, features stunning architecture and a poolside bar with unstoppable mountain views.
Ace Hotel, Palm Springs. Poolside music, on-site dining and bar, and great people-watching make this a Palm Springs classic.
The Rowan (Kimpton Hotel), Palm Springs. Set in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, you can’t beat the rooftop dining, pool and bar scene.
MEGA RESORT
JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Palm Desert. This mega resort gives you the option of heading to your room by boat! Multiple pools and restaurants, a stunning spa, and some serious conference room facilities make this a destination resort.
DESSERT
Sherman’s Deli - Two locations, in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. You won’t soon forget their dessert counter!
COFFEE
Koffi - Multiple locations in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. Don’t miss their frozen drinks!
IW Coffee - locations in Indian Wells and Palm Desert, don’t miss their cold brew coffee and morning treats!
LOCAL DESTINATIONS
Palm Springs Art Museum - Multiple locations, including the stunning main art museum building in Palm Springs, the Architecture and Design Center (also in Palm Springs), and the Galen (Dion’t miss the gorgeous gardens), in Palm Desert.
The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens - Located in Palm Desert, plan on at least a half day here. Nice selection of animals and desert gardens themed from deserts all across the globe.
DAY TRIPS
Joshua Tree National Park - About an hour from Palm Springs, this desert park features landscapes you would never dream existed.
Idyllwild - Small mountain town about an hour away. Cooler temps, green forests and charming cafes make this getaway popular year round.
